Nuvixa Launches “StagePresence” at EDUCAUSE

Nuvixa, a Serra Capital portfolio company, officially launched the software “StagePresence” on Tuesday, October 18th, as part of the opening reception at EDUCAUSE 2011.  EDUCAUSE is the major annual event for IT in higher education.  The event attracts family, administrators and CIOs who are responsible for educational technology at various institutions of higher education.

Nuvixa gave demos of StagePresence over 100 times, including once to Aneesh Chopra, the CTO of the United States. Nuvixa’s presence at EDUCAUSE resulted in a good number of follow up opportunities with major educational institutions, additional avenues for engagement with educational IT vendors, several press opportunities, and also an uptick in users signing up for StagePresence accounts on vix.tv.

Serra Ventures’ Principals Attend NASVF Conference

Tim Hoerr and Dennis Beard, Principals with Serra Ventures, attended the NASVF (National Association of Seed and Venture Funds) Conference on October 18th in Arlington, Texas. This 18th Annual conference was titled “Innovation Capital: Leading America’s Recovery.” Participants attending had the opportunity to learn about best strategies for building strategic investment programs, new methods of facilitating capital formation, best practices for state investing programs, and the opportunity to network with top seed and early stage investors as well as hear strategies from leading fund managers on raising and investing funds. Serra Ventures is a member of the NASVF.
